About the Black Box Multipower Miniature

Hardened and Rugged

These ultra-compact, plug-and-play converters support USB power using an optional USB power cable (part number LHC021A). Plus, Industrial MultiPower Media Converters are designed for use in harsh industrial environments.

Versatile Power Options

For added flexibility, the Industrial MultiPower Media Converter can be powered via an external AC adapter or 5-50-VDC terminal block power. Alternately, an optional USB Power Adapter Cable (sold separately, part number LHC021A) allows you to power the unit through the PC's USB port.

Maximum Redundancy

Multiple power options can be used simultaneously for maximum redundancy, ensuring continuous operation of mission-critical applications. If one source fails, the others will seamlessly keep the converter powered, so you can use AC and DC power together or USB and DC power together. AC and USB use the same power connection on the device and can never be used at the same time.

Link Fault Pass-Through (LFPT) Support

LFPT functionality can be enabled or disabled via a DIP switch on the unit. This feature combines TX LinkLoss (for twisted pair/copper interfaces) and FX LinkLoss (for fiber interfaces) between paired media converters. When enabled, LFPT passes a link fault through the device at each segment. If a link fails on one interface, the media converter will bring down the link on its partner and pass the fault to the next interface. Disabling LFPT helps when troubleshooting by not propagating the fault through the unit so the area where the issue resides can be determined.

Easy DIN Rail Installation

The converter includes a DIN-rail clip for easy attachment to a DIN rail. When installing multiple Industrial MultiPower Media Converters, use a single DC input source and cascade from one DC block to the next, up to the maximum available current.
