An Axis device connects to AXIS TU8008 via RJ45, and the two SFP slots allow installers to connect cameras to the network cost-effectively over long distances. The network ports can also be used for connections to additional cameras or temporarily to a laptop for local system service. Note that the Axis device requires an external power supply. AXIS TU8008 can be mounted either on a wall or on a DIN rail for flexible installation and operates reliably across a wide temperature range of -40°C to +75°C (-40°F to +167°F).

The media converter can be connected to a daisy chain network. The maximum number of cameras that can be connected in the daisy chain depends on the generated bit rate per camera. The limitations are the link between the camera and media converter, and the link between the media converters.
