Security cards and tokens are the credentials an access-control system actually checks: proximity and smart cards issued to staff and visitors, key fobs for compact carry, and enrollment tokens used to register new credentials into the system. The reader at the door only matters because one of these is presented to it.
Credential technology must match the reader population already installed - card and fob formats are not interchangeable across technologies, so confirm the frequency and encoding the existing readers expect before ordering. Plan for the whole lifecycle: issuance, lost-card replacement, and eventual re-credentialing all draw from the same stock, so order with turnover in mind, not just the current headcount. For programs adding visitor or contractor access, keep those credentials visually distinct from staff cards. COLAMCO supplies access credentials alongside the readers and controllers they work with for business, government, and education access-control programs.
