Power couplers let a camera run continuously from external power in place of its battery: DC coupler accessories shaped like the camera's own battery that connect instead to an external power source, used for long recording sessions, studio setups, or any shoot where battery swaps are not practical. Where a shoot cannot pause for a battery change, a coupler is what keeps the camera running indefinitely.
Couplers are camera-model-specific - order by the exact camera, since the coupler must physically match the battery compartment and electrical contacts of that model precisely. Confirm the coupler is paired with the correct external power adapter, since couplers are typically sold as part of a matched power-supply kit rather than as a standalone part. For fixed installations like time-lapse or surveillance-style camera setups, a coupler removes battery life as a limiting factor entirely. COLAMCO supplies camera power couplers for the extended recording and studio programs business, government, and education organizations run.
