Pointing stick and key caps are the small, frequently replaced tips on a laptop's embedded pointing device and gaming keycaps: replacement caps that fit over a laptop's pointing-stick nub between the keys, and textured or translucent keycap sets for keyboards. Where the original cap has worn smooth or worn out, a replacement restores the grip and feel the pointing device or key depends on.
Pointing-stick caps are matched to the specific laptop manufacturer's nub shape and texture, and keycap sets are matched to a specific keyboard's switch and key profile - neither is a universal fit across brands. For fleets of laptops with embedded pointing sticks, keeping a stock of replacement caps addresses one of the most common small-parts wear issues on a laptop keyboard. Choose keycap texture and profile based on typing feel and grip preference for gaming or heavy-use keyboards. COLAMCO supplies pointing-stick and keycap replacement parts for the laptop fleets and keyboard programs business, government, and education organizations run.
